Renewable energy for the Jakab Antal House through the Electric Up programme

In 2021, Caritas Alba Iulia applied for funding through the Electric Up programme to install a photovoltaic system on the roof of the Jakab Antal House. The system generates electricity for the facility’s own consumption, while any surplus is fed into the national grid. The project also included the installation of a 22 kW charging station for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Following the approval of the project, the financing agreement was signed in 2022. The procurement process and installation works then began, and the photovoltaic system was commissioned on 14 December 2022.

The photovoltaic system has an installed capacity of 27 kWp and partially covers the electricity needs of the Jakab Antal House. The tourist facility also operates a 22 kW charging station for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, thereby contributing to the expansion of the country’s charging infrastructure.
