Renovation Work Funded by the Bethlen Gábor Fund Completed

In 2016, Jakab Antal House was placed under the direct management of Caritas Alba Iulia, which began renovating and modernising it. The aim was to make more pilgrimage programmes, spiritual retreats, high-quality training courses and meaningful events available to the people of Transylvania in modern, welcoming and affordable surroundings.
The renovation of the House was carried out with the support of Bethlen Gábor Alapkezelő Zrt., with funding amounting to approximately 160 million Hungarian forints.
During the works carried out between August 2017 and June 2019, the interior spaces of the House were renovated, including the hotel rooms and their bathrooms, the corridors, stairwells, meeting and conference rooms, as well as the hotel kitchen.
The doors and windows were replaced, and the building’s exterior was painted in a new colour, giving Jakab Antal House a warmer and more welcoming appearance. Outdoor improvements were also completed: the car parks received new asphalt surfaces, the walkways were repaved, and the terrace adjoining the restaurant and the green area surrounding the building complex were renovated.
